Aww and Kotoba Technologies Launch Joint Research on Virtual Human Voice Generation
当社は、非英語圏に向けて音声基盤モデルの技術開発をしている株式会社Kotoba Technologies Japanと技術連携することを決定しました。
バーチャルヒューマンがエンターテインメントの領域だけではなく、教育や福祉、医療といった様々な領域において、労働人口の減少や顧客体験の創出を見据えており、本連携により、AwwのバーチャルヒューマンやAIの技術と、Kotoba Technologiesの保有する音声AI技術やLLMを組み合わせることで、日本語のニュアンスや表現など自動生成するのが難しい領域を共同開発し、バーチャルヒューマンがより人間らしい日本語表現と表情表現を可能にすることを目指します。
Kotoba Technologiesは生成AIの開発力を強化していくため、基盤モデルの開発に必要な計算資源に関する支援や関係者間の連携を促す経済産業省主導の「GENIAC」プロジェクトに採択された企業であり、スーパーコンピューター「富岳」を使った国産LLM開発プロジェクトの「Fugaku-LLM」などでも大きな役割を果たしています。
Aww is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Kotoba Technologies Japan to develop advanced voice-based models for non-English-speaking regions.
This collaboration seeks to enhance capabilities of virtual humans within the entertainment industry but also across fields including education, welfare, and healthcare. The initiative aims to address labor shortages and enhance customer experiences. By combining Aww’s virtual human and AI technologies with Kotoba Technologies’ cutting-edge voice AI and large language models (LLMs), this partnership will focus on the intricate nuances and expressions of the Japanese language. The goal is to enable virtual humans to deliver more natural and human-like Japanese language expressions and facial gestures.
Kotoba Technologies has been selected for the Japans Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “”GENIAC”” project, which supports the enhancement of AI development through the provision of computational resources and stakeholder collaboration. Additionally, Kotoba Technologies is a key participant in the “”Fugaku-LLM”” project, a domestic cutting-edge initiative for AI reasearch, which leverages the supercomputer Fugaku for the development of large language models.
